OVERVIEW
The
name of Nha Trang was first used in 1653, when the Viets
officially placed their sovereignty over this territory.
In the oceanic region of Nha Trang there are 19 islands,
2,500 households and about 15,000 people living on these
islands. The largest island, named Hon Tre, has a surface
of 36 sq. km; it protects the bay of Nha Trang from
the open sea and makes the bay calm without big winds
and waves.
